Someone drove into Belle Meade (east of Biscayne Boulevard at NE 76 ST), in the middle of the night and left 2 puppies in the Belle Meade Children's Park (corner 77th St & NE 7th Ave). without food or water.Male and Female.
Approximately a week ago in the height of our cold snap, (the park is fenced in). They were quite emaciated, and filthy dirty.
They were found in the morning by a resident who took them to his office and had them for a few days, but then had to go out of town.
I was contacted to see if I could keep them until they found home good homes. We noticed the little girl was limping. We took them to the vet and they are both very healthy, but the little girl does need hip surgery. She has an old injury that was not taken care of. Fractured right rear hip. We were told with surgery she would be fine.
They are gaining weight and doing fine.
We were told they are approximately 6 to 8 months old.
Very devoted to one another and very cute together. I have named them Sara and Charlie.
As of January 19, Charlie has found a home and we hope it will work out for him.
