Paula's story:
Paula is a beautiful 98lb, well tempered 3-4 yr old female who was rescued, by her angel Diana, from a Hernando County shelter. She had a case of entropian in both lower eyelids that required her to have surgery soon after coming into the rescue.
A wonderful vet, Dr. Kerri, did an amazing job with Paula's surgery and both eyes are fully healed & beautiful. Now Paula is ready to be adopted and is looking for her forever home.
She's currently being fostered by a family with a 5 yr old little girl, mulitple other dogs, cats, & horses. She has a wonderful disposition and gets along great with other dogs, people, & kids. She does not like cats or horses and I wouldn't recommend either in her future home without extensive training first. She should definitely be supervised during playtime and any rambunctious activities due to her size and intensity level she can be intimidating to other dogs.
She is house trained & can be kept in a dog crate or left to free roam in the house when you are away at work. She doesn't seem to have any food aggression and will take treats very softly from your hand or a spoon.
Her energy level is medium, she likes to have a 20 min walk or playtime and then is usually good to nap about 5+ hrs. She tends to pull when leashed walked but has gotten considerable better with a little work. Minimal continued training is recommended to help her advance with her obedience training but she's a smart girl & luckily very motivated by food.
Car rides still freak her our and she continuously drools when riding with you, poor girl. She loves to play with pull toys or balls but has amazingly strong jaws so they don't last long. She is also a huge cuddle bug and the fact she is 100lbs doesn't detour her from climbing into you lap to give kisses and get snuggles.
She will make a phenomenal addition to a very lucky family hopefully one day soon.
