Rottweiler Size: Medium Age : 16 mos old Sex:  male

HELP KOA

Koa found himself at the shelter after his owner abandoned him. He is very young ( less than two years) but larger and in need of love and patience to learn how to channel all that puppy energy still in him. He is 112 lbs with factory tail. 

This are some remarks sent by his current foster mom.  “He definitely enjoys getting attention and especially loves belly rubs!  He is very curious and explores everything within his reach ( counter tops, sink and kitchen table included) and for that reason he needs to be closely monitored so as not to eat / break anything not intended for consumption as well as to correct his behavior and teach him proper manners! 

He likes to play fetch but not keen on releasing the item once retrieved so working on “ drop it” command.  He will sit for a treat or when directed. He is powerful in play and doesn’t realize his size. He doesn’t realize how powerful he is and he can easily take a grown person out with his charge! 

He doesn’t seem to have a high prey drive and is not interested in squirrels or lizards. 

His appetite is ravenous... eats his food like it’s his last meal! Giving him multiple small meals throughout the day! 

He is very playful... found the box of toys and took them out one by one. When not playing, he gets curious and will roam about getting into everything so he needs plenty of toys to keep him occupied and a close watch that he doesn’t take things he shouldn’t from counters, tables, etc! 

I gave him a bath with the outside hose which he enjoyed and he sat nicely for me to wash and dry him! No issues with cleaning his ears either! 

He has not had any accidents in the house as he is let out immediately after he gets up from napping and several times a day. His stool is still a bit loose. 

So.... he is a big loving puppy like mush that will be perfect for a family that has the time to spend with him and has the ability to handle his strength. 

Because of his curiosity he definitely needs close supervision while home with him and when not at home, crated. 

Anyhow.... he is a really unbelievable sweet boy with lots of love to give!
