HERE HE IS IN JUNE 2021, living a good life
He is sweet and loving with adults and children, loves to play fetch, but needs his own space with no other dog and NO CATS
Buddy Honey is just a super cool fun dog, he’s a big beefy boy (wide girth and frame and short), he’s always happy. He just loves to play or get attention and he’s always excited and wagging his tail. He is very easy going and nothing seems to bother him.
BUDDY HONEY'S STORY:
I found a dog I believe to be a Rottweiler walking in traffic on Thursday night. He kept walking out into the highway to make cars slow down for him. I was terrified! I still can’t believe he wasn’t hit. He would look at each car like, “Are you here for me?” I pulled the car over and he bursted into a run. My teenage girls immediately decided he was friendly and hopped out of the car with him against my warnings of, “Let’s get a feel for him first.” Lol
So then the story begins. We checked “Honey/Ferdinand/Beanie”’s collar for a contact, knocked on doors asking for information, and then took him to a vet to see if he had a chip. No luck. Against my husbands protests, I took the dog home and had him fix the back gate enough to keep the dog in. The poor baby needed lots of water and the girls kept giving him food spaced out until he started to feel better.
The next day, we were so relieved he was still in the backyard and called the usual stops. Animal control, Humane Society, and posted on Facebook. Nobody seems to be looking for this dog. The locals told me that their road was a common dump sight for dogs and that they had seen this dog earlier in the week. This morning when I checked Facebook again, someone had suggested you might be able to help us. He’s so sweet and loving!
“Honey” loves air conditioning but acts like he’d rather be on the couch. Lol. His collar didn’t have a name on it. He is neutered. The girls gave him a bath. He didn’t enjoy it but put up with them. He does like being brushed.
He howled and barked for the first time today. Lol. I was actually relieved to hear he could vocalize.
You will LOVE this sweet dog. He needs a good home.
