Junior's story:
Junior was abandoned by his owner in a small trailer park outside of Tampa Florida. For more than 18 months he lived in a 40' x 40' yard. Some of the residents took turns feeding him whatever they had on hand. Sometimes table scraps, sometimes dog food, and other times Chinese takeout. He competed with the rats for his daily meals and slept in makeshift Kennels covered in their droppings.
Luckily for Junior, an angel living in the park convinced the park manager to release the dog to GGARR after seeing one of our rescue dogs on TV.
Junior loves people and loves to be petted and given treats, which he takes gently. He is fairly independent and happy just to be in the same room as his master. He is eager to please. He enjoys chasing tennis balls and bringing them back to his master for another throw. He knows commands like Sit and Wait. He accepts treats gently and walks well on a lead with minimal pulling.
Junior seems to do well with other dogs. But he needs a home with no cats.
