Foster Homes

Being a Foster Parent is the most rewarding and generous thing one can do to help further our endeavors. We have spent thousands this past year to board our rescues because we do not have a facility to care for them.  The cost of boarding is more than half of our budget for the year.  Foster Homes are the only way we have to cut back on this expense there by making those funds available to be used to save other Rottweilers that need Veterinary care.

Fostering is something one can do without incurring any financial burden, yet help us to deter the costs incurred when having to board a dog while waiting for the right home to come along.

Fostering also helps us to get a clearer and more accurate picture of the type of dog that we have, making it easier to place the dog in the right home.  GGARR will provide the foster family with veterinary care, food and any other supplies that are needed to provide the proper care for their foster dog.

Fostering is a wonderful way to help many dogs and GGARR without any financial burden or long term commitment, and still enjoy the companionship and love that one of our dogs can give you.  This is by far the most rewarding donation you will ever make.

Transporting

Many of our dogs are adopted by families that live outside of the South Florida area. When an adoption is approved for someone in a city where the dog needs to be transported to, we organize what is know as a Rottweiler Railroad.

The Rottweiler Railroad consists of a plan to move a dog from one place to another by organizing a group of volunteers that sign up for a piece of the trip.  Each person agrees to transport the dog from point A to point B where they will then meet the next volunteer that will then do the same.  This technique is used to help people that want to adopt but cannot make the entire trip themselves in a weekend or when a dog needs to be rescued and brought to us in South Florida from another part of the state or country Each leg of the trip is planned in advance and volunteers offer to cover a specific territory.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SIGNING UP TO BE A TRANSPORTER PLEASE CONTACT Leslie at ldavies43@comcast.net

Please include where you live and how far you might be willing to travel.  We will also need your name and phone number. When a transport is being organized you will be contacted to see if you are available at that time.
