Elvis's story:
This is my story.
One day I woke up and I didn't feel very well.
I went to get up to tell my family that I was sick, but I couldn't because it turns out I was suddenly partially paralyzed from my hips down both my hind legs and from my shoulders down my front legs. I couldn't stand. I couldn't move more than just crawling.
My family scooped me up and carried me to the car. I thought I was going to see my doctor, but they didn't drive me to see my doctor.
They drove me to MDAS - the Miami-Dade Animal Shelter.
They filled out some papers, left me helpless on the floor, and drove away.
I was all alone.
I had some basic tests done there, had my picture taken and was put in a cage. As the door swung shut I tried to tell them I was a good boy. But I couldn't get up off the floor to do that.
GGARR saw my picture, heard my story, and came to visit me.
Two Guardian Angels from GGARR took me to a veterinary neurologist and then to another specialist the very same day for their opinions and we got great news! The paralysis was going to be temporary!! My GGARR Angels worked with me every day. They never gave up on me.
I was diagnosed with a temporary partial paralysis and I am now walking and I can get up all on my own and I can even jump around (even though they don't want me to jump)! I am able to even trot around and I am going to learn how to swim soon too!!
I have never lost my spirit and my joy for life. I am a happy playful boy. Everybody who meets me loves me. I love all people and I've been tested for dog aggression and passed with flying colors!
I have had all my shots and I have had a full and extensive veterinary work up.
I love my Guardian Angels and GGARR. They are determined that I have a perfect home. Will that be you!?
