With a heavy heart I must write to you, but unfortunately it imperative that I find a new home for my dog, Libby. I have been trying for a few months now on various websites with no success, unfortunately, due to her breed. She is a 4 year old Rottweiler mix. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and has been on a constant regime of Trifexis for 3 years.
Libby is 65 lbs. LOVES: short walks, playing fetch, getting petted (her favorite are "super pets" with grooming gloves), & riding in cars. Shes HATES water. She cannot swim. Walking in public is very challenging as she leaps & barks at other dogs. Walking on trails is much better.
A little back story:
Liberty “Libby” came into our lives 4 years ago. She chose us. She had been chained up in a backyard down the street, neglected - for her first 11 months - but she BROKE those chains . She’s the sweetest, snuggliest puppers you’ll ever meet - to humans. Unfortunately she does not have the same warmth towards other animals.
She would do wonderfully as an only child - because of her early neglect - lack of socialization as a pup - she over excites quickly & will growl/bark/leap towards other dogs.
About 2 years ago we adopted Bella, a chocolate lab. They played wonderfully together for about 6 months, then when Bella turned one - things quickly turned sour. They both vied for dominance in the household and unfortunately had several intense brawls. Fortunately, neither was ever severely (needing stitches or anything) BUT because of this for the last two years they have had to live in separate "wings" of the house - never to meet. We tried professional training - but unfortunately with their past fights we were not able to work through these issues. Alas, after two years of trying, we finally must surrender.
I love her very much which is why I have sought you out. I want to make sure she finds a loving "forever" home .
