HELP CHOP:

Chop's story:

This sweet, handsome boy was an owner surrender at Hillsborough County Animal Servics in Tampa. GGARR checked him out, and decided to rescue him.

From his foster mom who thinks he's so great she wrote a poem about Chop:
"Chop is very loving, silly, and sweet,
and wants nothing more than to be at your feet.
Or to roll on his back, wiggle his nub,
and then beg for a belly rub." :-)

Although he is only 2 years old, he still acts a bit like a puppy, with lots of energy, and always wants to play. So far, he has gotten along OK with my dogs, but it required proper introductions - like walking them all together - and a little bit of time, with supervised interactions. He does have some dominant tendencies towards other dogs, so he probably would do best with a female dog or being an only dog.

A coule that is active would be perfect for him! But no children. He walks on a leash very well and loves to go on walks, knows how to sit, and also can "shake hands". He is also fully housebroken.

He has a strong and stubborn will, so I would recommend an experienced Rottie owner - he needs a good pack leader who is assertive yet calm to show him how to act. He has been very submissive to us humans, he rolls on his back, shows his belly, and wants belly rubs. No aggression, wariness, or discomfort with being handled by me and my husband. We can hug him, handle and hold his paws, leash him, etc. But we still think he needs an experienced Rottie owner.

He also needs a home with NO children as he is very energetic and may knock them down, and he is unsure around children. He has not been tested with cats, but we think that it would be better if he is in a home without cats.

Chop is available for adoption to the right family. Put in an application above if you are interested in him.

Chop loves to play and run - he was helping me dig holes for the plants I was planting! He would love a bigger yard than I have!
